Open Position: Assistant Treasurer

Assistant Treasurer Needed!

The Treasurer Assistant position is intended to be an ‘Apprenticeship-to-Staff’ position. Meaning that when the current Treasurer eventually steps down, the Assistant assumes Full Treasurer status for the Org and then looks for and fills the next Assistant position.

Treasurer Duties include: (but are not limited to)

Act as a member of the Head of Staff team and represent the Board of Directors as needed.
Being the primary account holder of the NorthWest Larpers bank account and be responsible for the stewardship of game funds.
Track and communicate the status of game resources. This includes the game bank account, paypal, and other properties of the Org.
Prepare books for the annual Executive Officer audit, and for state/federal taxes.
Handle and track reimbursements, payouts, and refunds.
Complete taxes and other government paperwork.
Work with the Soundview Camp Site Director to insure that our books are in good standing with them.
Maintain game insurance and process claims paperwork.
Track pre-payments/donations and update the check-in pre-registration.
Track site capacity.
Collect attendance cash at Check-In of each event.
Deposit cash into bank account.

Time commitment: An average of 10+ hours or so a month. (Not counting On-Site obligations)

Qualifications:

Must have attended Shadow Accord for a minimum of 1 year.
Must have a recommendation from at least one present or past staff member.
Must be able to meet in Bellevue or Renton on occasion for training/work as well as attend Head of Staff meetings in person as part of the Treasurer job down the line.
Must be have some basic knowledge of accounting.
I will be asking for someone to be willing to make the commitment to the position for at least 2 years.

Please send a letter of interest with your experience and qualifications, along with your staff reference(s), to sa.executiveofficers@nwlarpers.org and sa.treasurer@nwlarpers.org before 12/20/2018. If you are currently on a team, you will still be considered, and the usual team transition rules will apply. There will be an interview with the current Treasurer, and approval from the Executive Officers and Board of Directors. Final hiring approval is defined by the bylaws.

Compensation:

As an apprentice, XP provided up to the full staff XP as work is done. Once transitioned to full Treasurer, normal Staff XP accrual applies. There is no financial compensation, but this IS good resume material. You will be working for a non-profit 501(c)3.
