Lockpicking

I was looking through the rules and couldn't find any information on lockpicking. Is this a thing in game? If so what are the mechanics?

Lockpicking currently is not a mechanic in SA. You must have a tagged key prop for the lock to RP opening any lock, or the power "portal walk" on your character sheet if in the umbra

Form of Vapor also allows walking through doors.

I suppose the follow-up question here is how precisely does lock/key production work, and is it possible to somehow use that system to produce keys for existing locks.

To my understanding, as long as you know the number of the lock you can produce a key for it. So if you figure out what the lock is, how it works, what it looks like, etc. You can have a key for it by next game.

I haven't done it yet, but IF I ever make a key for an existant lock that I didn't make, I will play around with said lock using lockpicks to "learn" the internals and figure out the key bits. But no, we don't have a lockpicking mechanic in game, though most locks are working (warded I think) locks, which are not the same picking experience as the modern pad locks you can likely pick.
