A White Headband means a character is in the Umbra/Shadowlands. Humans by default are in the realm, and ghosts or spirits are by default in the spirit world. Werewolves live somewhere in between. If you are in the realm and don't have spirit sight or medium, you cannot perceive these characters in any way. If they effect the realm, you only see what is happening on this side of the gauntlet. If you can go into the Umbra/Shadowlands, you must wear a white headband at all times to show you are there. Please remember to speak in a whisper and be unobtrusive to those in the realm while in the umbra. Umbra people can take food from the realm and eat it without using a power, since starving ghosts are bad. If you are playing a character who is not familiar with supernatural things, you just don't notice it happening. For more information about the realm/umbra, please consult the rulebook.

==Yellow Sash==

While not technically a headband a Yellow Sash indicates the player is non-combat.

Players may wear a yellow sash to denote that they are injured or have a limiting medical condition. We ask players to respect this and limit the physicality of their interactions with players wearing a yellow sash. Further, we ask players wearing yellow sashes to generally avoid or remove themselves from combat situations for their own safety.

A yellow sash doesn't mean, "don't hit me." It is a visual announcement that means, "please try to be nice to me."

Someone wearing a yellow sash should still expect to be hit just as much as anyone else that is seeking to avoiding combat. People who see yellow sashes should downplay their fighting aggressiveness as they are not likely to meet much resistance from this opponent. However, when it's dark and in the flurry of large scale combat, this may not happen.

Shadow Accord is a WoD horror style game and a Boffer LARP. Getting hit is part of playing the game. However, we don't have to be jerks about it. We can play nice when asked to.

Ultimately, Each player is responsible for considering their own needs in deciding to participate in our events.

Orange Headband[edit]

An orange headbands mean Out of Game. If you put on an orange headband, you should head to an OOG area as soon as you can. If you cannot find your headband, an alternative is to hold your weapon on top of your head or make a fist over your head to indicate you are out of game in a way that can be seen from a distance. Players and staff will also use Orange Headbands to deal with emergencies. If you have an OOG headband on, please actively avoid people in game so that you don't interrupt their scenes.

Headbands and Other Signals in the Dark[edit]

At night it can be hard to tell if someone is wearing a headband. Calling "OOG!", "Umbra" or "Cloak" if someone tries to interact with you in game works best. They still hear some ghostly sounds, but no one is there. No rewinds mean that your character still hears something, but it must have been the wind (or your own paranoia!). Some people in the Umbra/Shadowlands wear a blue light. It just has to be visible; try not to blind people.
