So, I'm suggesting a few budget packs that I've tried and love. Full reviews to come later but they all get top marks from me. Just wanted to get these out before the summer trips start. I have the LA Police Gear Atlas backpack which is near identical to the 5.11 72.The good: over 70 liters of storage, with pockets galore, which is great if you want your stuff organized and dislike typical tube backpacks that require you to put everything in stuff sacks and dump everything out just to find your toothbrush, and the MOLLE is actually useful for lashing things to the outside. I think the best unofficial camping in the dry spot in the middle of the trail is at Tung Yeung Shan (533m), it just off the Wilson Trail, and makes an ideal one tent pitch when using either the Maclehose, or the Wilson.
