Minecraft Launches On Nintendo Switch

Fresh from the warp pipe it's Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition! It should be available on the shiny new handheld-and-home console today. It will be rolling out on the Nintendo eShop in North America, before following in Europe and Japan on the following day.

The Nintendo Switch Edition includes all the fun features available in other Minecraft console versions, like Battle and Tumble, our multiplayer mini-games. However, being for the versatile Switch, this version lets you play with your friends in a variety ways: get together online to play eight players or eight-player local play (if everyone owns a Switch) or arrange four players onto a couch to play splitscreen right in front of the TV on an unconnected console. Is there another blighted member of your family hogging your TV? Use the kickstand on the Switch and play tabletop mode! It supports splitscreen for four players, and players can use either Joy-Cons or the Pro Controller.

After you're done, click the kickstand and take your creations along with you wherever you go. Play on the bus! Play in your bed! You can play it by flipping the head of a Goomba and slide gracefully down the entire length of a flagpole! (Not advised.)
