Iranian media published on Wednesday a video of the arrest of famous Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi, showing him blindfolded and saying he did not mean what he had said in previous comments critical of the authorities.

While many staff appear to have already learned they no longer have a job when they woke up to find their computers had been wiped, workers received an email from Twitter's HR department on Saturday which said they had until 9am on Tuesday to nominate any current employee.

Chipmaker Intel Corp on Thursday cut its full-year profit and revenue forecast and warned it would lay off staff, but a stronger-than-expected performance at its personal computers segment helped send shares higher.

Twitter employee Simon Balmain told Sky News: 'Late last night we all received an email saying there is going to be a large reduction in headcount and the email stated that if we would be laid off, it would go to our personal email and if not to our work email.

"The amount that we can do with respect to people costs is a minority of our overall cost structure. So driving efficiency in the factory network is way more important to our economics than people cost," Gelsinger told Reuters, adding that adjustments to flexible workforces can be "quite immediate".

Chief Executive Pat Gelsinger said the cut to the fourth quarter outlook reflected economic uncertainty expected to last into next year, and that the company was taking time to ramp up sales into data centers, which dropped 27% in the third quarter.

The Resolution Foundation said ministers will have to squeeze taxpayers and the public sector further because of a ‘deteriorating economic outlook', with unemployment set to rise to 500,000 and inflation expected to remain higher for longer.

This is solely because air fryers, which can cost up to £400, require less fat, such as oil and butter, to cook food — giving them the crisp and crunch of a deep fat fryer without the unnecessary grease.

Made.com's rapid decline from being worth £775million when it floated less than 18 months ago, following a pandemic-linked online sales surge, to just £2million today is a warning for retailers as consumers cut back on discretionary spending in the face of rising energy bills, mortgage rates and food prices.

Mr Clancy described the situation as the 'digital P&O' - in reference to the shipping company, which was widely condemned after it sacked nearly 800 crew members without notice in March and replaced them with cheaper agency workers.

Once outside she hailed her 'significant achievements' in a defiant valedictory address with little hint of emotion and no apology as she drew a line under a disastrous 49 days at the helm of the country.

But he is expected to find a big job for leadership rival Penny Mordaunt, as well as right-wingers such as Suella Braverman and Kemi Badenoch.
There could also be returns for Michael Gove, Dominic Raab, and former education secretary Gavin Williamson.

'I hope that you will agree with me that the Government must make it clear to Twitter's new owners a digital P&O would not be acceptable and that no-one is above the law in the UK, including big tech barons.'

With a deteriorating economic outlook and the legacy of last prime minister Liz Truss's disastrous mini-Budget as a backdrop, it suggests the Government will need to find at least £40billion — likely through a combination of tax rises and spending cuts.

'The Government has a little over two weeks to finalise its plans to repair its economic credibility and the sustainability of the public finances,' said James Smith, research director at the Resolution Foundation.

DUBAI, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Videos on social media showing Iranian security forces severely beating protesters have gone viral as anger grows at a widening crackdown with arrests of prominent figures from rappers to economists and lawyers aimed at ending seven weeks of unrest.

that missed analyst expectations for revenue at its cloud business, AWS, which rose 28% to $20.5 billion. AWS, Gadgetinku.Com and other cloud service providers, are big customers of chip makers, including Intel and key to their revenue growth.

The company now expects 2022 annual revenue of about $63 billion to $64 billion, compared with $65 billion to $68 billion estimated earlier.
Its original forecast was for about $76 billion. Analysts on average expected annual revenue of $65.26 billion, according to Refinitiv data.
