Sony is producing a growing number of game adaptations, with this year's "Uncharted" movie grossing more than $400 million globally and a TV series based on "The Last of Us" franchise from its Naughty Dog studio launching on HBO next year.

TOKYO, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Sony Group Corp's gaming business is looking at fresh investment to bolster its push into PC and mobile, a senior executive said, as the PlayStation 5 maker competes for talent with deep-pocketed rivals and as industry dealmaking heats up.

"As a consequence, some of the business that was drawn in placed the casinos at real jeopardy of infiltration by persons whom The Star had reason to suspect were likely to have been involved in criminality," Mr Gotterson wrote.

Hulst, who is based in the Netherlands and took up his post in 2019, has overseen the growth of PlayStation Studios to 19 studios, with additions including Nixxes, which ports console games to PC, and mobile developer Savage Game Studios.

"The two Star casinos presently carrying on business in Queensland (Star Gold Coast and Treasury Brisbane) have been operated in a way that is inconsistent with the achievement of the objectives of the Casino Control Act," the report said.

"You should think of collaborations on the game development side first and foremost, but it's also not unthinkable with our PlayStation Productions efforts that we explore opportunities," Hulst said of the FromSoftware investment.

"We have in black and white some damning findings about how this company has operated, how they dealt with the regulator, and their obligations to act in the public interest clearly were not taken seriously," she told reporters on Thursday.

"The strike zone is the same. I've faced the Phillies before, their hitters are the same. Maybe they are a little more locked in. I'm more locked in because it's the playoffs. Everything is kind of the same. It's just a lot more important of a game."
