Founder: Marconius (5th generation Lasombra)
Lineage: Marconius childe of Montano childe of Lasombra childe of Irad childe of Caine
During the Reign of Julian the Apostate (355-363 AD), three Lasombra experimented with some Fae vitae they acquired. Stories suggest they also acquired an unknown mixture from an unnamed Mage. The vampires combined the two liquids, and convinced a member of the group, Marconius, to drink the concoction. Marconius was drastically changed, growing taller, thinner, his eyes going black, and his skin becoming chalky white.
The Lasombra council of the time did not approve of the experimentation and destroyed two of the experimenters. They forbade Marconius from ever embracing, then exiled him into the wilds, expecting swift justice from angered Fae lords. Instead, the Fae of the Autumn Court adopted Marconius, assisting him with his research and developing fae abilities. Marconius disappeared into the Fae realms for roughly 800 years.
The time spent in the fae realms has no record, and none but Marconius and the other Kiasyd know exactly what occured there. What is known is the Autumn Court accepted the Kiasyd as one of their own, a type of changeling breed. The other fae courts accept this, and there is rumor that some Kiasyd have even joined other courts. Some Kiasyd cling to their Fae heritage more than others, especially those older Kiasyd. The youngest Kiasyd may have little understanding of the Fae, having been embraced since Marconius exited the Fae realms permanently.
In the late 12th century, Marconius reappeared with his childer in the city of Strasbourg, a Ventrue stronghold in North-Eastern France. The Ventrue were kicked out of the city and it became a stronghold for the Kiasyd. Some Kiasyd found their way to the Lasombra libraries and were allowed access to the various journals and volumes present. The Lasombra found the newcomers curious, but decide to establish a truce, which Marconius endorsed.
The Kiasyd collect knowledge in droves from any source willing (or sometimes unwilling) to provide it. They tend to have very refined tastes, preferring civility and hospitality over conflict. They expect intelligence from those they have discussions with for any length. About the Fae
The Autumn court is a court of knowledge, planning, and patience. Kiasyd tend to embody this. The opposite court is Spring, which the Autumn court rarely get along with, and Autumn Kiasyd would generally find uncivilized and distasteful.
At the current time, all courts of the Fae are under an Oath Truce, putting a 100-year hold on a millennia-long war between the courts. No fae may directly harm another fae during this time. The truce was put in place so all fae could figure out what the Church is, why it has so much power, why it hurts them so much, and what to do about it. As members of the Autumn Court, Kiasyd are expected to uphold the Oath Truce like any other fae.
