Announcing Your Presence

As soon as possible after you arrive in a Barony for the first time, seek out out the Seneschal and tell him your name and Clan in private to avoid breaking the First Tradition. You may be informed of any Barony laws or upcoming Elysiums?, but the Seneschal should relay your information to the Baron, and you are free to conduct your business. If the Seneschal is unavailable, you are free to roam the Barony until such introductions can be made.

When meeting a Baron in private for the first time, usually at an Elysium, you are expected to kneel or bow before the Baron when called upon and state your full name, Clan, your sire’s name and your grandsire’s name. Then you are expected to answer any questions asked of you truthfully.

Refusing introductions will mark you as Autarkis, or outcast. You are not welcome in the Domain and have no protection from the Court if anyone (including other Vampires) decide to kill you in the face.

There are a few factors that determine a Cainite's default standing in a Domain, such as their generation, their clan, their Sire and lineage, and their position in court.

A proper Cainite introduction sounds something like this: "I am Narcissa Bloodclot, of Clan Ventrue, former Chamberlain of Backwatersville. Childe of Charles Dickens, Childe of Mithras, Childe of Ventrue, Childe of Enoch, Child of Caine." For those of higher generation, usually getting a couple generations back is sufficient...unless there is a particular reason the Vampire wants to lay all 9 generations out.
