As told by Galliards across Europe, in 1178, a Child of Gaia Ahroun Athro named Setting-Suns had just left the Sept of Tri-Spirals and was passing through Ushaw Moor when he heard a spirit pleading for help. Setting-Suns answered the cry and found a Black Spiral pack performing a foul rite on a captured unicorn-spirit in the woods. Setting-Suns quickly jumped in battle and slew the Black Spirals.
The spirit told Setting-Suns of a fount of Gnosis in the woods and as gift, the grateful spirit gave it to Setting-Suns as a caern. The spirit became the Caern Totem and Sept of Setting Suns was founded. The Sept of Setting Suns is run completely by the players.
