No new car dealers keep parts beyond 10 years or so and even auto parts stores limit their inventory to cars under 20 years. A 30 year old vehicle is almost impossible to find parts for. Plus, if you can find the part, depending on where you get it, the cost could be anywhere from 20 to 100% over the original part cost. To say that late model car owners are taken advantage of would be a gross understatement.
Spurious parts are cheaper and offer brand new unused parts at very competitive prices. While they seem to be as good as the original OEM parts, they never are, they are just copies and never are as good or the fit as perfect as the original.
Many people are often faced with the question whether they will get a good amount of money on selling their car. Everyone wants a good resale value which is, considering the general market, pretty difficult to get. The best option is to sell the car to a junk yard. Plenty of cars, of various makes and models, coming from different owners and different places get stashed in the junk yards. Piles and piles of unused cars are found here. Almost every area has a larger boat for convenience. Many people, owing to various circumstances want to get rid off their cars. Disposing them off in a junk yard is the best option since it insures good cash for junk cars.
Every town has at least one junk yard, which it is commonly called an auto salvage yard because they salvage the parts. Some parts on these vehicles are not functional, but even the most dilapidated vehicles have something that is useful on the inside or outside.
Try and buy used. This isn't always a good idea but on certain things it is usually easy to get a great deal on part used stock. If you hunt around you may find the part you are looking for at an amazing discount due to the fact that they are no longer new. If you have an old car this may be your only option.
