Need a special gift for someone inexpensively? Then cheap bargains are plenty at Garage or Yard Sales. But there are hidden costs or health concerns involving these sales. Certain sale items may be unsanitary, or just not good for you.

The only problem is when you get there (right at 9am) they maybe have 100 items and it is all junk. Guess what? You wasted a trip. That doesn't happen on Craigslist. The only travel required is when you want to see an item in-person or buy it.

Keep in mind that most items shouldn't always be ignored at the sale. If an item your interested in can be verified as being brand-new or unused (i.e. in original packaging, still disassembled, etc.), or you feel very comfortable on an item, then your making a better buying decision.

If the car is running it may be cost-effective to drive it around to local recyclers to gauge the general selling price. If it is unable to be driven, many scrap yards offer towing services and are willing to visit the location of the vehicle and perform an inspection there. Calling around and giving recyclers a general idea of the vehicle works just as well since most of them have preset prices based on a per-pound scale. An extra tip is to try and locate salvage yards that specialize in that particular brand or model. If all else fails then there's the internet.

But the junk yard? Well again now what? Do you just give up and walk home? Not likely, your mind kicks into gear to evaluate your options, catch a flight... rent a car... take a bus? There are plenty of alternatives to get you to your destination.

If you have ever put out a large amount of garbage for the garbage man to pick up on garbage day to find that he only took half of it, then your load was too large. But if you call a junk removal company, they will be happy take away anything you need to get rid of at a reasonable price.
