What this means is that you can sometimes save a lot of money by sourcing the motor spares you need online, instead of buying through garages, or through major car manufacturers.

Like many car owners and car parts buyers out there, I must say that I once thought that the genuine parts sold by my local automotive dealer were better. Well surprisingly, this is far removed from the truth. Do you think that car makers make their own parts? They certainly don't. They would probably like you to think so but this isn't the case.

Here is what we need to get started. First we are going to need our solar panel, it has to be 12 Volt, preferably 16 Volt. I would recommend getting a 16 Volt solar panel. You can pick one up for around $200 and that is going to our highest priced item for our project. When looking for solar panel online look for solar panels from company called PowerFilm, they have some great roll out and fold out panels.

Here's what happens. Car makers use outside independent companies to help them design their parts. But after a certain time frame the actual manufacturers of these parts are allowed to sell them to other wholesale distributors for resale. This time they come with the manufacturer's logo and not that of the car maker. So essentially, the identical part is now referred to as an OEM part.

OEM parts are almost always more expensive than aftermarket car parts. That being said, the price difference often isn't that large in many cases. This is important because OEM parts are generally better for your car than aftermarket parts. The issue is not the manufacturing process of the aftermarket car supplier, but the simply fact that the OEM part is made using the same molds and manufacturing process of the original part on your car. This means it should fit perfectly whereas the aftermarket part might not be an exact fit.

The clerk at the auto insurance brokers will either find your filter in stock or order it for you. Select the type of oil the manufacturer of your vehicle recommends. A common grade of engine oil is 10W30. Select the size of oil container your vehicle usually uses for a refill. Mine usually uses about four litres of oil. You will need an oil filter wrench that will fit your size of oil filter and a box end wrench to fit the size of oil pan bolt your vehicle has. They are commonly about one half of an inch. Be sure you have a variety of wrenches available around that size. You will need a metal pan about six inches deep which should be large enough to hold more than four litres of oil. These are readily available at hardware stores. You will need some newspapers and rags to wipe your hands on.

The most important thing is to be able to tell if an auto part is genuine or not. When you are knowledgeable enough, you can't be offered products that are not meant for your specifications. Thus, it would give you big edge to have enough information regarding auto parts from junkyards.

There are numerous options when purchasing used auto parts. You can buy directly from a junkyard, have your mechanic find used parts for you, or purchase the parts online. Ask around and get recommendations. Check out the businesses online to see if you find any scams or negative feedback. You don't want to buy used auto parts from a shady company.

After you've revamped the outside of your car, it's time to think about the inside. Again, it's the small details that matter. Add some new floor mats to keep the car clean. Whether you drive an automatic or a stick shift, change the shifter to something a littler nicer. You can find everything from beautiful leather knobs to scary skulls. Change the steering wheel cover to make it a little more interesting. If Hello Kitty isn't your style, try a genuine leather cover instead.

Determine Your Need: Every spare part is made for a specific make and model of a BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, etc. It may not be compatible with another make or model. Therefore, wherever you will be buying your auto parts, be specific with your order. Let the dealer know that you need x part for y vehicle of make a and model m. Failure to do this may cause you to regret later on. Once you have defined what you need, we move onto the net stage.
