When you start to think about the stuff you own, ask yourself this question, "Do you own it or does it own YOU?" You've perhaps heard of the term "golden handcuffs." I think it might apply here.

Don McFarlin of Gordonville was the top local fisherman and finished in 4th place with a three day total of 15 bass weighing 33 pounds 11 ounces. Mr. McFarlin divulged catching his limits of fish on spinnerbaits and a Texas-rigged Berkley Power worm. He also revealed that the key to his finish was to slow down and work his heavily-pressured water thoroughly.

Dal Lake is once again bubbling with activities. Optimism is everywhere, shikara owners are again convincing tourist for sightseeing in Dal Lake. lakefront rentals owners are again repaintig & renovating their house boats hoping to see those golden days back again.

2nd place went to Todd Castledine of Nacogdoches who caught a three day total of 40 pounds, 8 ounces. Mr. Castledine used a watermelon Zoom Super Fluke over rocks and a blue Texas-rigged Kicker Craw while site fishing to catch his bass.

Ft. Worth angler Darren Scott won the co-angler division with 11 bass weighing 21 pounds 15 ounces. Mr. Scott struggled on day 3 by breaking off a 3 to 4 pound fish that ran under the boat. He later rebounded though as he caught his final keeper on literally his last cast of the tournament. All of Scott's bass were caught on an Academy H2O squarebill crankbait.

The Pembrookshire path is well marked with posts showing an acorn symbol. The acorn posts often contained a second symbol, this one of a man falling off a cliff, which I believe is there to remind us walkers to pay attention. Most of the cliffs you are walking along have sheer drops of up to 400 feet to the ocean. Our outfitters prepared us well. We had an excellent guidebook written by two guys who are professional walkers and writers about walking. They had accurate notes to go with their hand drawn maps, which provided rich detail. Their hand drawn maps were the perfect compliment to the official map of the coast that we were also provided.

Loeb boathouse. March to November is convenient months for gondola rides along the rivers of New York. You could bring your family and friends along with you as you explore the waters while doing your own boating activity.

Avoid Debt. Most people buy a boat on credit and extend the payments over several years. If you build your own boat, you can buy supplies and materials only as you can afford them. When your boat is completed, you will own it free and clear.

Any vessel can be chosen from a wide variety offered by the rental agencies to suit the personal requirements. People can plan their own itinerary and enjoy independent holidays with family or close friends on a schedule of their own choosing.

With that in mind, how do you go about finding a boat dealer? Ask around, either from your neighbours, your friends or those who know about boating if they could recommend you a boat dealer that they did business previously with. You can also find dealers in the phone book and the Internet by typing "boat dealer + your location" without the quotes in the search box. You can also make a call to Better Business Bureau in your area to find out whether there are any customer complaints registered to a certain dealer.
