Mark Barnard and I were talking about a new account we are coaching and training. We were talking about the new client's database, lead generation practices, follow-up and organization. Mark described it as a "Lead Generation project cars". The client's database consisted of a disorganized mess; a collection of leads with no priority assigned, follow-up dates or source noted. Yet, it is a large database of leads. Even Linder's was quite organized and I'm sure that's why, at least at one point, they were the biggest in the world.

Increase the light. Garages tend to be dark and dirty. Change the overhead light bulbs by installing a higher wattage light bulb. Wash the windows in the garage and clear the windows of any shelves or debris that's blocking the light.

So where do you start? I suggest that you start with a single family home. This way you will be dealing with one tenant or family. Go along with the Home Inspector, take notes about what they look at, and for. Ask questions, stay calm and listen. Buying a property can be a very nerve wrecking situation so remind yourself to stay calm. If you do your homework ahead of time you will know what to expect.

I believe the viewer is more comfortable and more accepting of an image that fits their mental picture...and let's face it...so many times reality just does not live up to what we picture in our heads. Also, when a viewer sees an image and it matches their perception of something they can quickly, in their thinking, move onto the message...rather than using their subconscious process to fit the reality into their pre-conceived notions. At any rate, in my experience, catering to preconceptions seems to work well in conceptual stock photography.
