First Super Mario Bros. Trailer: You Can Finally Hear Chris Pratt

"It's been a lifelong dream of mine to be Mario," Pratt says in a video clip preceding the trailer, relating how he played Mario games on a machine at his childhood laundromat. Good to know, but the jury is still out on how that dream will become a reality.

McCary's resume in entertainment includes serving as a segment director on Saturday Night Live from 2013 to 2019, and as director for the first two seasons of the popular web series Epic Rap Battles of History.

It's-a here! The first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie dropped during a Nintendo Direct presentation on Thursday. The trailer had its simultaneous premiere at New York Comic Con, which runs Thursday to Sunday.

Fans were eager to hear Pratt's Mario voice, especially because co-producer Chris Meledandri said he won't use the exaggerated Italian accent made famous by video game voice actor Charles Martinet. We won't ruin it for you. Watch the trailer.

Stone also stars in the upcoming film Poor Things, which is in post-production, alongside the likes of Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef, Mark Ruffalo, Jerrod Carmichael, Margaret Qualley, Suzy Bemba and Christopher Abbott.

Black also made a surprise in-person appearance at the New York Comic Con panel on Thursday, where he threw a cool spiky shell backpack to a lucky member of the crowd. He recalled playing the original 1981 Donkey Kong at the Mini Mart in Culver City, California, and called Bowser one of the greatest video game villains of all time.

OK, so co-producer Chris Meledandri confirmed back in 2021 that Pratt wasn't going to use the stereotyped voice of the video game plumber in the upcoming animated Mario film. But on Thursday, Nintendo dropped a highly anticipated teaser trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Pratt revealed, kind of, the voice he did choose.

Aside from Pratt, the all-star cast includes Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad. Martinet will also have a surprise role.

They asked if such exclusivity clauses would reinforce Microsoft's Windows operating system versus rivals, and whether the addition of Activision to its PC operating system, cloud computing services and game-related software tools gives it an advantage in the video gaming industry.

Honestly, the much-anticipated Pratt-as-Mario voice was kind of a letdown. There's ... maybe a faint bit of Italian accent in the few lines Pratt speaks? Or is he just using his normal voice? Pratt's Mario mostly just reacts to getting the wind knocked out of him as he heads off on his Mushroom Kingdom adventure.

Figures also show more than 60 per cent of adults in the UK regularly play a game on a console or mobile phone. 

Meanwhile more than 90 per cent of ten to 16-year-olds play online games regularly. Campaign group ParentZone has claimed children feel under pressure to make ingame purchases and almost half believe games are only fun when spending money.

Games developers, publishers and distributors were asked whether the deal would affect their bargaining power regarding the terms for selling console and PC games via Microsoft's Xbox and its cloud game streaming service Game Pass.

Milberg partner Natasha Pearman, who is leading the case, said: 'It [Sony] has deployed an anti-competitive strategy which has resulted in excessive prices to customers that are out of all proportion to the costs of Sony providing its services.'
