New cars are expensive. If you want the extra goodies that you can get with any new vehicle, you are going to pay even more. Not everyone can afford this, or they do not see the wisdom in spending that much money on something that they can get for a better price. Those are the folks that go out and look for newly new cars to buy. They can get the same things you can get with a new car, but for sometimes half the price. What is not to love about that?
Many auto parts stores have periodic sales. Check your mailing circulars and the newspaper for advertised discounted auto parts. If there is a particular part you are searching for call different car parts dealers and ask when they will go on sale.
The helpful thing about drawing cars is that whilst they are still, they are perfectly still and they do not change their outline or colour like humans alter their expressions, stances and clothes. In fact, it would be pretty simple to amass a collection of sketches of quite exotic cars as well - cars that most people could never even hope to own.

Doing some research you can find out what people are looking for, and then you can be the one selling it. Sounds so simple doesn't it?
Sometimes the parts are not kept in stock, so they have to be ordered from a distributor, but they usually arrive the next day. When they do arrive, I pick them up and pay for them.
These items are mostly junk and can be found mostly in dollars for junk. But relax, we do not want you to go on a junkyard hunting trip! There are dealers who sell junk and scrap too.
A great alternative is the junkyard. Often when a car is totaled and sent to the junkyard, the spare tire is intact. Many have never even been used. So how do you find a great match there?
