There are 12 pence to a shilling.

The singular form of pence is penny

Spending Money

The rules have prices for what a character can purchase many items for at creation and the cost of crafters to create many of the in-game items. The prices listed in the rules are guidelines and in practice can vary wildly based on the supply available and the in-game demand. Players should expect to pay more than the costs to make an items when purchasing an item in-game.

Buying and selling items in-game is as much a character vs. character interaction as combat or political maneuvering. As such, bargaining and haggling is not only common, but expected.

Food, drink, lodging, and taxes are common character expenses. Additionally, characters should be expect to pay for services like armor repair.

Supernatural items and rituals can occasionally bought. The price of these will vary greatly on their rarity and power.

Making Money

There are a lot of ways to spend money in-game. Do not despair though there are a number of ways to make money in-game as well. Making Money in Shadow Accord offers some suggestions about how to make money in-game.
