Juneau, Alaska is the major cruise port and destination for every cruise line sailing the Inside Passage. This is an amazing city that has a very young history but amazing one nonetheless. All cruise ships port in the down town section of the city, right at the base of Mt. Roberts and virgin island yacht Mt. Juneau. The downtown section is hilly, but most of the shops and tour activities are all set on a flat area of the city.

I strongly recommended dishes like steamed rice wrapped in lotus leaves served in bamboo steamer, baked pumpkin with seafood stuffing and fried cuttlefish cake. Visitors are advised to make a reservation in advance though.

Boats of all sizes and shapes line the docks on each side of the creek. This community has provided much of the shrimp supplied to the Charleston area for 30+ years. Shrimp season opens in late April with the Blessing of the Fleet festival, held at historic Alahambra Hall. Deep sea fishing charter vessels also dock here, as do kayak outfitters. Sail and power vessels tie up to the dock, their passengers encouraged to dine along the quay. The 'no wake' zone makes it easy to pause here for an experience of freshly caught local seafood at restaurants lining "the Creek".

Here's your chance to try a traditional Maori Massage, while you're at it.

During that period Dubrovnik was one of the richest towns and one of the most powerful commercial centers in Europe.

4) Heading out to the Eastern Cape, via the beautiful Garden Route, is the Knysna Elephant Park. This is an elephant sanctuary where visitors are allowed to get up close to these graceful creatures. On sale are buckets of fruit which allow you to feed them. With the help of a guide you are also able to touch them. This is not a safari experience, but gives a rare chance to interact with elephants.

Over the years, tour operators have organized beach safaris along the Mombasa coast including scuba diving, big game fishing, jet skiing, wind surfing, parasailing, beach parachuting, swimming with dolphins, coral garden snorkeling among others. A Dive beneath these waters and you discover an undersea paradise. The coral reefs teem with fish, a kaleidoscope of colours and life.
