You have to check your car for the battery levels at least four times every year. Every season you could go and get your car's battery check up done. Add distilled water to the battery, if the battery levels are going down. You also need to check the cable clamps and terminals and maybe, you need to clean them with a bit of baking soda and a wire brush.

Nothing saves you more money than a good car mechanic. If you are currently visiting a bad garage where the mechanics fix something, but a week later something else breaks down, stay away from that garage. Don't be stuck in an abusive relationship. A good mechanic is your best friend.

Men and Woman have their different activities that they enjoy. Men love cars, it's a hobby that brings them great enjoyment. The enjoyment may come in the form of cleaning the car or buying new auto parts and at times, even just sitting in the vehicle. A woman should respect her mans addiction of cars just as she would want her man to value her love of shopping.

Used car auctions can fall under different categories namely police auto auctions, seized vehicle auctions, or government auto auctions. Seized vehicle auctions organized by government or banks are good places to go to find great bargains. This is because many agencies and banks are not willing to spend too much money maintaining their vehicles which is why they are more than willing to sell them off at deep discounts. Those are places where you can get a car for as low as $200.

There are several reasons to find a good local surplus auction. They are a part of the community and will want to do a good job so that you will refer them to others. If there is an issue with the repair, they are close by to correct it for you.

Most often, the auto parts you will require will be quite common, and are probably parts like bumpers, brake pads, seatbelts, wiper blades, and so forth. In recent times, it used to be that no matter what was required the car would be taken to the local mechanic. Now a lot of people are doing their own work on their cars and there is an increased demand for specialized parts. Some of the items people are now changing which they didn't in the past are parts that are required to convert to lower emissions levels. Fancy wheels, specialized wiper blades and even specialty headlight covers are some of the other common specialty items.

Look around you when you are on the road. There are millions of cars, buses, motorcycles, boats and not to mention sports vehicles. They all require or will require some maintenance or parts down the road. It is just a matter of time. In fact according to the U.S. Department of Transportation Statistical Records there were 241 million registered vehicles in 2007 in U.S. alone, and this does not include the vehicles in stores, salvage yards, auto auctions, and countless other places. Now, multiply this many vehicles by the number of parts an average vehicle has, and you get into trillions.

Take note of auto repairs shops that advertise cheap prices for things like oil changes and a freebie for a brake check. This is one way some mechanics will try to get over on you. They will purposely look for ways to find things they claim need to be repaired prior to you leaving the auto shop. Then, you'll end up paying additional money you were not expecting to dish out. It just goes to show you that "free" isn't really free without strings attached.

Sourcing these parts is a big challenge. To start collecting them, begin by approaching people who have classic cars that are not in a good condition and are not in use. You might just get an original part that is in good shape.
