When I first met the team working on Deepworld, a 2D Sandbox-style building game that is similar to Minecraft, at GDC in March, I informed them that Deepworld would be more than they anticipated. Although they have extensive experience in the creation of servers and software running a massive game like Deepworld requires a significant investment. raunge They appear to have come to an agreement. The game has led to an Kickstarter project to try and raise funds early for servers and development. Minecraft Servers

The group is offering a wide range of prizes to its supporters which include your own servers and worlds as well as art books and other items. You can also choose purchasing your own items including names, names, and even images for the game. The goal is to raise US$20,000 overall and at the time of writing, the guys have raised about $4,000. They say they want to pursue the project full-time, and this money will allow them to achieve that goal.

I certainly wish them the best. What About Deepworld looks great, and I agree with you when I first saw it. I believe that the Mac (and iOS) would be greatly benefited from games like this.
