The Minecraft Vanilla Cape is, at the moment it's a surprisingly well-known secret. This is due to an article that appeared earlier in the week on the official Minecraft website, which talked about the cape. However, it was taken down just a few hours later. It's a bizarre state circumstances and there's not a reason for the reason.

Phoenix SC posted a video about the whole thing and even designed a mockup to show the cape in action. The short version of this entire story is that Mojang posted a blog post, which we've just linked to, but which returns an error 404 "not found" error, then shut it down. It clarified that players who purchased both the Bedrock and Java versions of Minecraft prior to June 6 2022 would receive a fancy Vanilla Cape.

However, the page was removed just a few hours later and can now only be found on the Wayback Machine, which is just very odd. There's nothing especially sordid about the story and it doesn't seem like something that's been announced in the early hours. We're not sure about the reason it was removed, but it definitely was. According to the wiki, the cape was also advertised on the Minecraft Discord server So why was the post removed?
