Aug 6 2022 - Support for ARM and Translations

We've just released version 3.4.20.0 of the launcher, which includes beta support for ARM powered devices as well as preparations for translations and multi-language support.

The previous version of ATLauncher wasn't working well with ARM devices, and with this update, we've added support for running Minecraft on ARM devices. We've conducted extensive tests and it should be able to work. However it is possible that you're using an ARM device and have problems then please contact us on Discord to inform us of the issue. We now fully support ARM devices.

We're working on the launcher to support multi-languages. Although we're not yet there, we're close. The last step is to get the translations up-to-date so that the UI can be modified to accommodate different languages. If you are fluent in English or other languages and would like to contribute to translating the launcher, please go to the CrowdIn page. Feel free to contact us via the #translations channel in our Discord. FREDDY'S BLOG

Jul 11, 2022 - Mojang accounts can't be used online anymore

Multiple issues are currently being discussed regarding the inability to log into online servers with an unmigrated Mojang account.

It seems as though Microsoft has ended account support for Mojang accounts. to play online servers currently, you have to migrate your account to one that is a Microsoft account as the legacy API's used to manage sessions within the game no longer work.

This could be a glitch however it is more likely that it's a deliberate error. You will no longer be able to login to online servers with Mojang accounts.

May 18, 2022 - CurseForge Modpacks Project Distribution Toggle

When CurseForge announced that an official API was coming for third parties to use, there was a caveat. CurseForge projects could decide whether third parties can download their projects. This means that any mod available on CurseForge can choose to block distribution of their mods to all third client.

This change will be effective as of today. It will affect modpack downloads from CurseForge.

Modpacks that include mods that have disabled third party downloads will require extra steps to manually download those mods through your browser to complete the installation process.

Similar steps will be required for mods that are added to instances from CurseForge.

If you see any issues downloading CurseForge modpacks or mods, please contact us on our Discord.

May 17, 2022 Modrinth Modpacks launched

Modrinth Modpacks have been launched in an Alpha state.

For those who aren't unaware, Modrinth is a mod (and now modpack) platform as an alternative to CurseForge. Modrinth is open-source and actively developing. It's exciting to see the Modrinth's progress. To find out more about Modrinth and what they're working on, check out modrinth.com.

The latest news is that Modpacks are now available for upload and downloaded from Modrinth. ATLauncher supports both exporting instances in Modrinth format for upload to Modrinth and downloading and installing pre-made packs.

Although this is still in an Alpha state, it looks pretty promising so far, and we can't wait to see more awesome packs that will be released soon.

Check out the Modrinth tab in the Packs section of your launcher today to see if you find something new.
