Minecraft might get Banned in Turkey for being too Violent

In a move of absolute ridiculousness, Turkey wants to ban Minecraft because its Family and Social Policy Ministry believes it is too violent for children. Yes, a game in which you build fortresses and pound trees is being criticized for its content, because in Survival Mode, you have to defend yourself from zombie-like Mobs and that can mean killing them. As the region's Hurriyet Daily News reports, the Ministry also states that some youngsters might mistake Minecraft's blocky pixels-filled landscapes with the real world which would lead them to believe that torturing animals was totally fine. Server stat Sure; okay. The reason for the outfit looking at Microsoft's $2.5 billion acquisition in the first place? to determine whether the game encouraged violence against women. Its heart was in the right place from the beginning.



Even if you only have a basic knowledge of Minecraft it is likely that the whole concept seems too strange to be real. Sadly, that isn't the situation. VentureBeat states that Turkey is the first to ban the game in the event that the Ministry's petition is successful however, Turkey doesn't have a history prohibiting violent games. The government's past history of preventing access to sites like Twitter and YouTube however, it's unclear if it'll follow suit with Mojang's newest baby.
