Heroes of The Olympic Games
The motto was a symbol of the athletic achievements of the thousands of sportspeople who have played the games over the years.
This exhibit shines a spotlight on more than 50 sportspeople from across Europe and beyond. Although they're the smallest fraction of those who have participated in this exhibition, we've highlighted them by telling the stories of both women and men from all over Europe and beyond, focusing on their lives and sports achievements.
Like all large international events like all major international events, the Olympic and Paralympic Games reflect world events and also the past. The experiences of sportspeople - and the sport of athletes are a reflection of the past. The exhibit showcases remarkable personal achievements and victories as well as an illustration of the changes in the world and national politics as well as conflicts, wars and women's rights, as well as more than a century worth of change.
Like the past as well, the Olympic and Paralympic Games are not static. They are constantly changing. In 2021 the Olympics motto was changed to include 'Faster Higher and Stronger - Together'. Evina
