Players Attend Funeral Procession in Online Game Final Fantasy
Hundreds of players have been part of a funeral procession in the online game Final Fantasy after coronavirus killed one of their gamers.
Friends of the character referred to as Ferne Le'roy organised funeral services following the death of their human player died from the virus.
Ferne's Final Fantasy group decided that the player should be honored after an Reddit discussion. There were mourners who gathered in the desert city Ul'dah on Zalera's Zalera server.

The group, which appeared to have been in the hundreds, was dressed in black funeral attire.

The procession began in the middle of the night and crossed various lands as the sun rose including the forested areas of the Central Shroud, to the north of the desert. The journey lasted about 30 minutes.
The procession ended under the Guardian Tree the most sacred spot in the woods.
The Twitter community of the game expressed shock at the sheer number of people who took part in the parade.
One wrote: "The #FFXIV family never fails to impress me. It was a massive attendance and display of respect, camaraderie and community at this memorial service. My perspective couldn't take this large number of people! Let the deceased player rest in peace. My condolences to all who were involved. Everyone, stay safe!

Another participant said"This was my first experience of something like this. There were people there who played 2-3 zones of base game, which is huge in general. Many of them came to express condolences and support to their fellow adventurers, their families, and friends.
