Brujah

Introduction

We are strong and we are fast, but without a sharp mind to hone these attributes we are only brute savages. Until more recent times we were great scholars and fine warriors. However since Carthage we have been a clan divided, and the rift seems to only grow wider with time. The elders uphold and espouse tradition while the neonates rebel for their own ideals. Are you the former or the latter? Or are you caught between attempting to find a middle ground.

History of the Clan

Brujah once ruled over Hellas, now known as Hellenistic Greece, and treated it as something a social experiment, greatly contributing to the mortal world of the time. While the Brujah of Greece and Carthage were allies, the mortals of Greece and Carthage were vicious rivals. In time Greece was taken by Rome.

Well before Rome and its Ventrue allies set to conquer Greece, Brujah elders withdrew to Carthage, having apparently seen the coming conquest. Better to avoid the conflict then bow to the Ventrue.

For Brujah, Carthage was an attempt to rebuild the Second City and is sometimes referred to as “The Third City.” It was a city where vampire and mortal could co-exist relatively peacefully.

Roman Ventrue grew jealous of Brujah’s power and rapport with the kine, and set to destroy it all. The Ventrue, with their Toreador and Malkavian allies, turned Rome against Carthage and burned it to the ground and salted the earth. Troile, our progenitor, is believed to have been killed by this treachery. Though some believe he has escaped to the earth below and slumbers in torpor.

The Ventrue would have you know that Carthage was a pit of corruption and demon-worship of the worst sort. Brujah, Assamite, and Baali working hand in hand holding blood orgies and sacrifices to all that is infernal. When Ventrue and Roman legions destroyed Carthage, they were doing the world a great service.

With the fall of Carthage, comes the fall of Clan Brujah as a major power among Cainites.

Geography

Brujah can be found most anywhere in Southern Europe, even in the ruins of Carthage. The Brujah of the British Isles in particular are anarchist in comparison to their better educated brethren.

Important Figures of the Clan

Brujah – 3rd Generation – Progenitor of Clan Brujah, diablerized by Troile.

Troile – 3rd Generation – Diablerized his sire out of anger for his utter lack of emotion. Was cursed by Caine for this act with the clan’s weakness of temperment. Believed to be sealed in Torpor underneath Carthage after its fall.

Robin Leeland – 7th or 8th Generation – Leader of the Agitators in Britian, an anarch group of pariah Brujah. Could be the origin of the tales of Robin Hood.

Typical Roads for Members of the Clan

Via Humanitatis – Road of Humanity

Via Caeli – Road of Heaven

  • Via Divinitatis – Path of Divinity (Road of Heaven)
  • Via Vindicta – Path of Retribution (Road of Heaven)

Via Regalis – Road of Kings

  • Via Equitum – Path of Chivalry (Road of Kings)

Priorities of the Clan

Usurp the Ventrue and Lasambra power base to bring power back to the mortals, and in turn power to the Brujah. Redeem the status of Clan Brujah among the clans after the Fall of Carthage. Strive to hone the skills of both mind and body to perfection.

Opinions

High Clans

CAPPADOCIANS – They have such a fondness for death, perhaps they should see it firsthand.

LASOMBRA – They are all that is wrong in the world.

TOREADOR – Wondrous, yet easily distracted artisans.

TZIMICSE – Monstrous tyrants who twist people into playthings.

VENTRUE – For what they did at Carthage, they will always be our enemies.

Low Clans

ASSAMITES – Well educated allies, as long as their knives are sheathed and they can be seen.

GANGREL – These well traveled barbarians have seen more of the world than most of us, and with that come tales worth hearing. Treat these allies as honorable men and they will treat you in kind.

FOLLOWERS OF SET – The only good snake is a dead snake.

MALKAVIANS – Though conversations with them can provide some form of insight, it is often safer to just let them be.

NOSFERATU – Well informed brokers of knowledge, and loyal for the right price.

RAVNOS – No better than common thieves.

TREMERE – Kill the foul sorcerers when you can. If you cannot, remind your fellow Cainites of Saulot’s fate.

BAALI – Kill them all. They are older and more terrible enemies than even the Ventrue, and for that they deserve our undying attention.

SALUBRI – Mourn for their loss, and aid them however you are able.
