Clan Cappadocian

Antediluvian - Cappadocius, considered by most to be a brilliant but often absent visionary. The clan was largely ruled by his favored Childer: Japheth Cappadocius, Caias Koine and Lazarus.

Cappadocians are the most numerous vampiric clan in the world and boasts multiple bloodlines in the Dark Ages. Enclaves and monasteries and great ruins were populated by undead Mystics and scholars. When one Cappadocian found she did not have time to study a subject thoroughly, she would embrace a promising scholar to help her. Some have not left their studies in hundreds of years. The Cappadocians are both feared and respected as oracles and sages. Although they look to Anatolia as their home, Cappadocians reside all over Europe as advisers, sages, and teachers of long-lost knowledge. They often remain aloof of the intrigues of the High Clans, choosing quiet contemplation of the greatest mystery of all – death. Their studies have irrevocably marked them.

Clan Cappadocian is a clan of scholars and mystics. Often referred to as the clan of death or graverobbers, Cappadocians are typically seen as morbid. Original founder and Progenitor Ashur Cappadocius leads his clan by example, and encourages those who follow him to find their own way of understanding the questions of unlife. Before the time of his childer, Ashur wandered the Earth content in solving the riddles of the world. Not a want for companionship like Caine, it was a long time before Ashur sired his first childer. It wasn't until Ashur's first revelation (that he didn't understand what the question to unlife was) that he choose to sire the first of his progeny Caias Koine. Shortly after, Ashur had the first of a long line of precognitive visions. The founder saw himself with a host of cappadocians mourning the loss of something unknown, but great. Having a new study, he and his new childer caught to unravel this new mystery, creating a new generation of childer to help in the new studies - Japheth and Lazarus.

A millennia passed and Cappadocius seemed no closer to his answer then when he first started. Wandering through the land of the Hebrews south of his native lands of Cappadocia (present day Turkey). Speaking to the souls of the departed, studying the bodies of countless mortals and vampires alike left him still wanting an answer. Thus Cappadious came to the conclusion that only one being had the answer: God. Never being one to rule his clan tight fisted it felt strange when Ashur called a consult of all his childer in Mount Erciyes in the center of Cappadocia, at which he shared his revelation with the entire clan willing them to share what they know at a yearly meeting.

Being a scholarly clan, the typical Cappadocians contain the beast through via ossium the road of bones, this is especially true for the later addition to the clan the family of Necromancers the Giovanni (restricted). Other typical roads include the road of heaven and the road of humanity though that latter is a bit more uncommon due to the clans views on humans.

Humans are an interesting case of study, and a good source of reference when thinking on the questions of unlife. After all, cappadocians started off as humans. Though specifically you should never value one human, the exsistance of the whole is what must be appreciated. Look towards humans and study them you can find valuable assistants if you find a worthy one. Ghouls are tools and should be respected, as they have a greater understanding of the value of life than the normal human counterparts, and ensure you keep them safe as you will likely uncover more than a secret or two that the other clans would not like to share. The other clans are to never be as trusted as your fellow cappadocians. Some clans such as the venture, and even the malkavians can provide insight. Take heed from their words but also use caution when among them. Two other factions that you should be aware of is the birth of our body guards and sisters in arms, the Lamia; the other is a human clan of necromancers that Ashurs has gifted with the gift of immortality, the Giovanni. Just remember that all beings in the realm, this includes the moon beasts. Watch them, learn from them, but never trust them for they don't value the questions of life and death just beware the claws the like to unleash.
