The presenter's second documentary about her husband Derek Draper's ongoing recovery from Covid, Caring For Derek, has been shortlisted for an award a year on from the  win for her first documentary.

Robert interrupted Tuesday's show to sing Kate's praises, after she remarked that it was 'so exciting' to work with her friend for the first time.

'You know what, it is!' Robert agreed.
'First of all, you are sunshine in human form, and to be alongside a friend.'
'We don't really talk about it that much. I just want to say more than anything else, you are a model of the possibility against a backdrop of darkness of being light in every sense,' Rob continued to gush.

As his voice broke, an emotional Rob promised: 'I'm not gonna cry but I am just very proud.' A clearly moved Kate told him: 'That's so lovely!

Kate replied to a tweet from a viewer who admitted they were in tears at the interaction, explaining what a support Robert has been to her over the past two years.    
'He's an #angel isn't he - first time hosting with my good friend @RobbieRinder who many might not know has privately been incredibly supportive in the darkest of times & it's an absolute privilege to watch his brilliant mind and compassion in action on @GMB' she wrote.
Kate praised Robert back in July 2020 when the star helped her out on the morning of her son Billy's birthday when she woke up to a plumbing issue.

Kate's husband Derek has required round-the-clock care since he contracted coronavirus in March 2020.
The presenter recently took a leave of absence from GMB after her husband's health took a downturn when he contracted sepsis.
He is now at risk of losing one of his kidneys, although he has been moved out of intensive care and is now in the hospital's high-dependency unit.
