If you find that you are in need of a hard to find part, it pays to check out the auto salvage yard. Many individuals will search several junk yards before they find the part they need, but it beats having to order a part that is no longer made. The price difference is considerable and the ease of acquiring the part is significant.

Every state and town has at least a salvage yard where useful parts of dilapidated vehicles are salvaged for re-use. Most of the parts would be non-functional. But even the most dilapidated vehicles have a usable part either on the inside or on the outside.

Inspect the inside part of the tires. See if there is evidence of previous repairs such as patches or plugs. If the tire has too many patches, leave it and go find another one. Sieve-like tires won't help saving your money. You'll end up spending your budget to repair the damaged tires.
