Jeremy's mom: Renner, 49, had already told his mother Valerie, who raised Jeremy and the rest of her kids in Modesto, California that he had picked up this condo for her in Woodland Hills, California, so she could be closer to her kids and grandkids in Los Angeles.

'The Farm Estate' has been in Mark Bowen's family for five generations, with his wife Natalee Bowen seeing the potential for the rural landscape of Toodyay, Western Australia, to become the perfect backdrop for her glamorous 'Hamptons' vision.

An hour's drive from Perth, Toodyay is a small town in the Wheatbelt region of the state and is part of the stunning Avon Valley which has a population of just 4,439 people stretched over 1,683 kilometres.

Check out CNET's Zvox SB380 review to learn more. One big ding was the $300 price tag, but obviously $170 is a lot more palatable. That's why my dad is definitely getting one of these for Father's Day. He's constantly cranking the volume way up in order to hear dialogue, much to the chagrin of my mom.

Electric coil
These burners convert the electricity that runs into the coil into heat. These cooktops contain thermostat sensors that notify you when a burner is on, but not necessarily whether it is still hot. Electric coil stoves are notorious for uneven cooking because of uneven distribution of the coil.

Gas cooktops
Both home and professional cooks have valued gas stovetops because of the how uniform the heat output is. An open flame surrounds the bottom of your cookware, which evenly distributes the heat around it. This heat output is measured in BTUs (British thermal units). Like electric models, the power range varies from model to model, but the output generally falls somewhere between 5,000 BTUs for low heat on a small burner and 18,000 BTUs for high heat on a large burner. We've seen burners on high-end ranges get as low as 800 BTUs and as high as 20,000 BTUs. If you're a speedy cook, be aware that our cooking tests show gas cooktops tend to take longer to boil large pots of water than electric or induction cooktops.

I briefly tested one in my living room. As with the similar AV155 that I'd tried previously, I noticed an immediate improvement in overall sound quality. Pressing the AccuVoice button on the remote cycles through six different levels of dialogue enhancement -- almost overkill, to be honest, but it sure does work well.

Smoothtop (glass-ceramic cooktop)
These cooktops are made of smooth glass-ceramic with heating units under the surface. A built-in sensor lets you know when a burner is still hot. This is important with smooth electric cooking surfaces, because the burner doesn't always turn red if the heat is low.

Today's deal is an update of one from a couple weeks ago, albeit a different version of the product at a different price. As I noted then (and have mentioned countless times in the past), TV speakers are terrible. And if you happen to be -- sigh -- over 50 like myself, you should probably consider a soundbar that can enhance dialogue, making voices easier to hear.

Jonathan adds he knows his stuff and half the stuff from the design were his ideas, as Jeremy jokes Jonathan has maybe a good eye but he's lazy, before adding he's a good guy and he's 'crushing' the renovation as they go to commercial.

Some ranges use two types of power: gas for the cooktop, and electric in the oven. These dual-fuel ranges are a good compromise for folks who want the direct heat of a gas burner but the even cooking of an electric oven. However, these hybrids cost more than traditional one-power-source ranges.

Get a 1-year Family Handyman subscription for $5
The quarantine life means you may have time to finally tackle those home projects, like installing slide-out shelves in your kitchen cabinets or, I don't know, building a gazebo. Over the years I've found Family Handyman to be an invaluable resource for stuff like that, and right now you can get a 1-year subscription for just $5. That's for either the print or Kindle edition. (My advice: go print, because then you can dog-ear useful pages or even rip them out to tack up in the garage, workshop, etc.

There's also a feature called Output Leveling, which prevents big spikes in volume (like when commercials come on or there's a noisy action scene). And I was able to "train" the speaker to recognize commands from my Roku remote, definitely a welcome option. However, there's no Bluetooth here, something to consider if you want a speaker that's good for listening to music when the TV's off.
