This article explains how you can create a shield using Minecraft (any version) as well as how to gather the supplies and decorate your shield and create a banner.

What You Need to Make a Shield

In Minecraft the game, a shield is a defensive item that you can craft and equip to protect you from attacks. It is simple to build your own shields as you begin playing Minecraft. Iron ore may be found in veins in the underground if you find an underground cave or a deep ravine. Iron bars are also found in chests if iron ore is found in a village, tower, mine shaft for strongholds, sunken ship, or stronghold.
