Students at the University of Pennsylvania are recreating their campus on "Minecraft" after COVID-19 ended their school year early. Since the spread of coronavirus across the globe, events such as weddings and graduations were shifted online to "Minecraft," Animal Crossing, and other online games. Although the University of Pennsylvania's academic year is finished, some students aren't quite ready for departure.



A group of UPenn students created a Minecraft server and coordinated the recreation of the campus in the course of March. Since then, they've spoken with Columbia University and Brown University students working on similar projects to plan potential challenges similar to the Hunger Games between schools and created plans to host spring-themed events on the server.
