Blizzard files Warlords of Draenor trademark





Just before BlizzCon 2013.

World of Warcraft developer Blizzard Entertainment has filed a new trademark for "Warlords of Draenor" just prior to the fan-festival BlizzCon this weekend.



The trademark covers videogames. The domain name warlordsofdraenor.com was registered in early October. By registering the domain via Go Daddy Blizzard was able to slip under the radar of the media.



In Warcraft fiction, Draenor is the ancestral home of the Orcs. It also served as the setting for The Burning Crusade, the first expansion of the game.



World of Warcraft will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next November.



This weekend, Friday, November 8th and Saturday November 9th will be the seventh BlizzCon gaming convention.



Virtual tickets for BlizzCon cost $US39.99, and can still be purchased online.



Blizzard stated that tickets let users view live HD streams of every panel discussion and community event like cosplay contests as well as the closing ceremony etc.



Blizzard will offer codes to buyers to redeem items in-game from its current collection, which includes World of Warcraft and Diablo. DATCHLEY'S NEWS The virtual ticket will also provide a discount on online purchases of collectibles. The tickets will be available to show attendees at the Anaheim Convention Center on the weekend between November 8-9.



Blizzard has also announced that the opening ceremony, and all eSports finals scheduled for BlizzCon will be streamed at no cost on www.blizzcon.com.
