One of the most powerful magi in World of Warcraft is the human Khadgar. Since the time that the First War ravaged Azeroth, he has been a prominent character. He was among the main warriors in Warlords of Draenor and Legion. However Khadgar has been overlooked in the past two expansions. When he makes his big return in Dragonflight, all of that will change. Although it is not yet certain what his story will bring however, it will have major implications for the future development of Azeroth.



Khadgar wasn't always the powerful mage World of Warcraft players have come across. There was an age when he was just an innocent child who wanted to learn the art of magic. He was a curious person however, his life would soon become chaotic when he was forced into becoming a champion for the people. The world of Azeroth could have faced a worse fate without him.

Khadgar's Apprenticeship



When Khadgar was 17, he was sent to apprentice under the great wizard Medivh. To many, including Khadgar, Medivh seemed like nothing more than a kind and eccentric old man. Upon arriving at Karazhan, Medivh would put him to work cleaning his library. As Khadgar wandered, he stumbled upon a room that held a vision of humans fighting against the orcs, and it looked like he was leading the charge. This shocked Khadgar, as he had no idea why he would be leading this army into battle.



Medivh was a savage who fought Khadgar and accused him of being a thief. But the sage quickly apologized after he remembered who Khadgar actually was. To make up for it Khadgar took him to explore the southern portion of the kingdom on gryphons. Khadgar was able to meet his first orcs and warlocks. They also encountered the Champion Anduin Lothar who would enlist Medivh to join Stormwind's defenses. Wow and private wow servers However, Medivh did not agree. In response, Lothar would ask Khadgar to be Medivh's caretaker while he made more uncertain decisions.



Medivh would become more unpredictable and spend a lot of days alone. Khadgar began to question Medivh's behavior and was concerned that something was wrong with him. He went to meet Garona, half-orc, and began to understand what Medivh was doing. Khadgar realized that the great wizard was trying to open the portal between Azeroth, Draenor. The Aftermath of Medivh's Death



The orcs would go on to destroy Stormwind and force the humans to flee to the kingdom of Lordaeron. Khadgar would flee with them, but the battle with Medivh would forever alter him. His life force would remain drained, leaving his face to take on the appearance of an old man with white hair. Luckily, he would still maintain the strength and agility of a young man.



Khadgar would be appointed the official liaison of the Council of Six to Anduin Lothar. He would be a major factor in the Second War's defeat of the Horde and would push the orcs to the Dark Portal. There, Anduin Lothar would lose his life but Khadgar destroyed the portal. He would oversee the building of Nethergarde Keep to defend against another Draenor invasion and that attack would quickly come.



Khadgar would go on to lead an expedition into Draenor to stop the Horde once and for all, after they attempted to invade three times. He was forced to close the portal from that side and cut his troops away from Azeroth. The Alliance believed that he was dead and planned to build a statue to honor him. They didn't know that Khadgar was to become the main character of many World of Warcraft expansions.
