Wiki Minecraft is not Working With Game Capture
Minecraft does not default to the high-performance GPU. To get it to work with game capture, you'll have to follow these steps:
This is mostly for laptops and all-in-1 systems.
The first step to troubleshoot is to ensure that the Game Capture source "Mode" is set to "Capture specific window" and then select javaw/Minecraft on the "Window" drop-down
Close OBS and Minecraft
- Open Windows 10 Settings App (Start button + Cogwheel icon).
Go to System - Display, then click "Graphics settings" near the lower right
Select "Classic app" or "Desktop app" (they are identical, but called differently on different Windows versions) and then click "Browse".
Once Minecraft/javaw.exe is installed to your computer, click "Options" and choose "High Performance"
You will usually find javaw.exe here:
For Minecraft Vanilla Java edition 1.16 and older:
%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.4297127D64EC6_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Local\runtime\jre-legacy\windows-x64\jre-legacy\bin\javaw.exe
For Minecraft Vanilla Java edition 1.17:
%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.4297127D64EC6_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Local\runtime\java-runtime-alpha\windows-x64\java-runtime-alpha\bin\javaw.exe
For Minecraft Java edition 1.18:
%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.4297127D64EC6_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Local\runtime\java-runtime-beta\windows-x64\java-runtime-beta\bin\javaw.exe
It is possible that you won't find Javaw.exe in the default location if you are using the Lunar Client or Custom Launcher. It could instead be in a subfolder of the launcher. A1 Cdn A1 Cdn Here's how you can find it:
